Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 28, 2026
Conscious ("we," "us") makes a focus tool that layers over your own logged-in Instagram web session to remove the parts built to keep you scrolling. This policy explains exactly what data the app touches.
The short version
- Conscious has no accounts. You never create a Conscious login.
- Your Instagram login stays on your device. We never see, store, or transmit your Instagram username, password, or session.
- The only personal-ish data that leaves your device is anonymous crash and usage analytics, plus purchase data needed to manage your subscription.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use it to track you across other apps or websites, and we do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
What stays only on your device
- Your Instagram session. Conscious shows Instagram in a web view using your existing login. Those cookies live in the system web view storage on your device. We have no server that receives them.
- Your settings and activity. Schedules, mood logs, grayscale and other toggles, streaks, and your daily time totals are stored locally on your device only. Deleting the app, or tapping "Clear all data" in Settings, removes them.
What we collect
- Subscription data (via Superwall and Apple). When you start a subscription we receive purchase and entitlement information needed to unlock the app and restore purchases. This may include an anonymous app user ID and device information. We do not receive your name, email, or payment card details — Apple handles billing.
- Crash diagnostics (via Sentry). If the app crashes we receive a crash report (device model, OS version, app version, and the technical stack trace) to fix bugs. These are not used to identify you.
- Product analytics (via PostHog). We log anonymous in-app events (for example: an onboarding step finished, a paywall was shown, a mood was logged) tied to a random anonymous ID. This helps us see where the product works and where it breaks. No advertising identifier is used and we do not track you across other companies' apps or sites.
How we use it
Only to operate, fix, and improve Conscious, and to manage subscriptions. That's it.
Sharing
We share data only with the service providers named above (Apple, Superwall, Sentry, PostHog), strictly so they can perform those functions for us. We do not sell data or share it for advertising.
Your choices
- Tap Settings → Clear all data to wipe everything Conscious stored on your device and sign out of the app.
- Delete the app to remove all local data, including your Instagram session.
- Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in iOS Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Children
Conscious is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes we'll update the date above and post the new version at this URL.
